When you’re thumbing through old photos or pictures from a recent photo shoot,
what are the shots you’re most drawn to?
When it’s me looking through those photos, I like to see the essence of whoever is in front of the camera. For example, I want to see my family enjoying each other and having a good time. I want to see real smiles and emotions. I want to be able to look at my photographs and be able to relive the moment and feel the emotions as if I was actually in that moment again.
My name is Patty Taylor and I am a homeschooling mom of three boys (two graduated) and one princess. I have been married for 23 years to the man of my dreams and we serve missionaries and their families, that are stateside for a season or abroad through helping them capture and document their workings in the countries they serve, as well as mentoring young adults as they charter these waters called adulthood.
I have always loved photography. Whether I was the subject being photographed or the photographer behind the camera. My photography journey started when I worked for five years (1990-1995) at a local photography lab for professional photographers and learned many of the different facets of the printed side of photography. During this time I began to see everything around me from a different point of view and, as I got my hands on a digital camera (2001-present day), I begin to transfer the images in my mind’s eye to files that could be printed and displayed for the world to see. I love being able to create vision and emotion through the photos and my careful selection of what is in my frame while capturing the memory of you and your loved ones, at home, on location or at your event.
I truly believe that photographs are so important. And the best kind tell a story. Remember the phrase, “A picture’s worth a thousand words?” My mission for every photo is to have it be worth a thousand and one as I capture who you are right now…today. To freeze your life, as it is now, in time. Those moments that will be memories of yesteryear before you know it. To create a session that you and yours will have fun on and won’t just be your everyday photo session, but becomes a joyful recollection; and in the process we can become friends.
Getting to know the person(s) to be photographed is so important in this process of showing the real you, tailoring the image into something that will last a life time. This is why I like to meet you, either over the phone, in person, or through email so that we can chat and I can get a good feel of what you are looking for within the shoot and how to best pull that all together during our time together. I can’t wait to meet you!
